A quick guide to Korean birthday milestone dates

Check Hwangap, Chilsun, and Palsun dates in one place

Enter a birth date to organize major Korean longevity milestones such as Hwangap, Jingap, Chilsun, Heesu, Palsun, Misu, Jolsu, and Baeksu. Each result card shows the date, weekday, D-Day count, and remaining time so it can be used for family planning or shared schedules.

What this calculator shows

Key longevity milestones

It calculates the common Korean milestone ages from 60 through 99 in one pass.

Solar and lunar input

Solar birthdays calculate immediately. Lunar birthdays are converted after the browser conversion library is ready.

D-Day and remaining time

Each milestone shows how far away it is from today with a D-Day number and year-month-day detail.

Copy and share

Tap a date card to copy it, or create a share link after calculating the result.

How to use it

  1. Enter the birth year, month, and day. The birth year cannot be in the future.
  2. Keep the default solar option for a solar birthday, or choose lunar after the lunar button becomes available.
  3. Check the preview date and weekday. February 29 birthdays show a leap-year note.
  4. Press Calculate to show current age, Korean counting age, upcoming milestones, and past milestones.
  5. Copy a date card or use the share button to send the result link to family members.

Calculation basis

The calculator adds each milestone age to the birth year and keeps the same month and day where possible. Final displayed dates use the solar calendar and weekday.

Milestone ageEach named milestone is calculated with the full-age value shown in the result card.
Leap-day birthdaysIf a February 29 birthday falls in a non-leap milestone year, the date is adjusted to February 28.
D-DayThe D-Day value is the day difference between today at midnight and the milestone date at midnight.
Current ageFull age checks whether this year’s birthday has passed; counting age is current year minus birth year plus one.

Useful situations

Family event planning

Check which weekday a Hwangap, Chilsun, or Palsun celebration falls on before planning the event.

Invitations and shared calendars

Copy the result date into a family chat, calendar app, or invitation draft.

Past milestone review

Past milestones are separated from upcoming ones, so you can see which events have already passed.

Before you rely on the date

Confirm important family schedules one more time

  • Milestone names and celebration timing can differ by family, region, or tradition.
  • Lunar input works after the conversion library loads in the browser; wait if the lunar button is still disabled.
  • February 29 birthdays are calculated as February 28 in non-leap years.
  • For reservations, printed invitations, or official events, confirm the final date with your family standard and a calendar.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check a Hwangap or Chilsun date?

Enter the birth date and press Calculate. The calculator displays the main milestone dates from Hwangap through Baeksu with weekday, D-Day, and remaining time.

How is this different from an age calculator?

An age calculator focuses on the current age. This tool focuses on when each Korean longevity milestone occurs and how much time remains.

What does the D-Day result mean?

It compares today at midnight with the milestone date at midnight. The same day is D-Day, a future date is D-number, and a past date is D+number.

Can I use the result as the final event date?

Use it as a planning reference. Family customs and lunar-birthday handling can differ, so confirm important events with your family calendar before booking or printing invitations.
