Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between US gallon and British gallon?

A US gallon is approximately 3.785 liters, while a British gallon (imperial gallon) is approximately 4.546 liters. The British gallon is about 20% larger. The US and UK use the same unit name but have different actual volumes, so caution is needed.

Are cubic centimeters and milliliters the same?

Yes, 1 cm³ = 1 mL exactly. Both represent 1/1000 of a liter.

Are Korean doe and Japanese sho the same unit?

They’re almost similar but with slight differences. Korean doe is approximately 1.8 liters, while Japanese sho is approximately 1.8039 liters, showing a minor difference. Both originated from traditional units for measuring rice.

What happens if I enter a negative value?

Since volume cannot physically be negative, entering a negative number will display an error message. Only values of 0 or greater can be entered.

Can very large or small values be converted?

Yes, it’s possible. For very large or small values, they will automatically be displayed in scientific notation, or you can enable scientific notation in settings.

How accurate are the calculation results?

All conversion factors are based on international standards (ISO, NIST) and calculated as accurately as possible within the limits of floating-point arithmetic. Sufficiently accurate for general purposes.

Can it be used on mobile devices?

Yes, it can be used with optimized screens on all devices including smartphones and tablets. You can access and use it directly from a web browser without installing a separate app.

Can it be used offline?

Internet connection is required for initial access, but afterward, basic functions can be used offline through browser cache.
